My question(s) is in regards to using a Garmin "In-Hull" Transducer for my Garmin Echomap UHD 73SV. I am thinking of using the Garmin GT8 Transducer. 1) Will it work fairly well as a depth finder for Chart-plotting. I won't be fishing much. 2) How do I know if my hull is cored or solid? It has a "SERV" hull number... Thanks for your help!

Given the size of the boat my guess is you have a solid fiberglass hull.

Since you probably trailer the boat? Why don't you use a transom mount transducer? That will work so much better then an in hull device, they tend to not work that well at all.

I actually keep it in a Marina. I honestly didn’t want to deal with getting it mounted outside the boat and figuring out how to run the cables, etc.
