garmin 546s?

is it worth the extra $250 over the 541s

Your best bet is to do a side by side comparison on the Garmin website, and base your decision on what you want. I had the 545 on my old boat and it was great. One thing you have to consider is screen size and resolution. That is what is driving the price difference. Personnally, bigger screen is better, and resolution certainly makes a difference depending on your eyesight.

I have the 545(Predecesor to the 546) and I'm glad I bought it over the lower resolution 540(predecesor to the 541)
