Am thinking about adding one of these to my 20 footer. Have looked at most of the posts and Garmin's website and am still a little confused. I do most of my boating on inland lakes & rivers and it looks like the 535 comes with these charts/maps. As near as I can tell the "S" will allow the use of a transducer (depth, water temp & speed), but which transducer? The boat has a thru hull transducer for depth only so I'm figuring on changing this out. My guess would be to go with a bronze 50hz/1kw unit but not sure if this is overkill (would 600w work just as well?)
Also can transducers from different manufacturers work with the Garmin unit - if so, which ones (Garmins MSRP on theirs is a little tough to swallow)?
I also might just drag the boat to the coast this summer - can I get the correct charts from Garmin for this unit?
