Strange question, but I have a 2003 340DA and haven't found a good location to put a trash can or trash bag during the day when everyone is partying on the boat. Has anyone come up with a good solution for this? Thanks.

I do that to the people I think are garbage, but try to put everything else in something that can be taken back to shore for proper disposal.

Simple! Just carry one of these:

I eventually got tired of having one of these follow us around,

...so I started recycling.

Our 340 is layed out a bit different than yours but we keep a small trash can in the head.

On 240DA we had only one can under the step. This wasn't enough to hold everything. Usually we're back at the dock by the end of each day, so temp storage was securing a bag under the cockpit table. If I had to store it for a while or over night, a stern locker comes to mind first.

On 320DA we have two cans. One under the sink in the cockpit and other in the galley. If those two are not enought, the locker where can under the sink in the cockpit is has extra room for 2-3 extra bags.

Alex.

Try to remove all packaging before bringing it on board. I'm assuming your garbage is food related. Zip locks can be reused. Plastic bags compact easy. Cans can be crushed. Glass can go in the ocean because it makes nice colored sand and beach glass that is so prized.

:smt038Get a cheap pontoon boat, line the deck rails with chicken wire and tow behind.:smt038 when in need, chuck the bags back to the scowl and keep on truckin'. What a colosal carbon footprint to strive for... if the deck fills too quickly the cans may be openend from above the water line and I believe they can hold a bunch.... Think Sanford and Son You ol' Dummy

I have a 2000 340 DA, and it has a built in garbage container in the cockpit area. It's pretty neat, has a hinged lid on top and the can is behind a door. I guess they did away with that for the 03's.

I took two suction cup hooks and stuck them behind captains chair on the side of the cockpit sink, hook the plastic bag handles on each hook.

I heard dogs were good for eating garbage.

Just sayin'.

Pick up a 5 gallon plastic bucket from Home Hell, I mean Home Depot. Works like a charm plus you get to reuse it.

We try to recycle all the plastic/glass bottles we use on the boat but it gets to be a challenge dragging all that home..but we are trying.

When I take a lot of people out I leave the life jackets at the dock to fit the trash bag. If there are cute girls in the group I replace the fire extinguishers with wine bottles

Just throw it in the transom locker - seriously - or we'll bag it up and set it in the dinghy sometimes too.
