Galley sink strainers???

I've been reading through some of the different topics and noticed a few mentions about cleaning out the Galley sink strainers. I have NO CLUE where to begin in locating and cleaning these! Sure could use some details if anyone has any.

I believe they mean the "aerators" on the faucet itself??? The screw-on mesh jobbies at the end of the faucet. I don't believe the fresh water system has actual "strainers" in it. I may be missing something but this has always been my interpretation when reading similar threads...
