So my fuse keeps popping. This goes to the blower. I put the proper fuse one which is a 7.5 and the proper size as well. However, it still keeps popping. How do I check for the short?

I changed out the fuse and a wire that was very frail and it did not work just popping

Well done. Shouldn't that middle fuse be the same physical size as the others??
Yes but for checking purposes I used that and another fuse that was the same size same thing. It was working with a fuse that small as well but the other day it popped

How do you know you have a short in the wiring? Couldn't the problem be the blower, itself? Maybe the motor is jammed with something or frozen.

On the plus side, on a small boat like that with minimal wiring and easy-to-trace wires - it's super easy to check the wires.

But, if I can be so bold for a minute... since your diagnosis is to keep putting fuses in there... you may want to take this to someone with some electrical knowledge. The last thing you want to do is try and internet-fix-it without some electrical knowledge yourself and end up with a worse issue. I'm all for DIY, but one also needs to know his limits.

i dont know it just popped but this is the wiring. does faulty mechanics like a blower make fuses pop?

If that is the blower fuse that keeps blowing, then it is quite possible that your blower is internally shorted. But it would only blow when you have the switch on.

That has to be it because it turns in for like 1 seconds and pops

If you disconnect your blower and it still pops the fuse = short. If it does not blow the fuse with the blower disconnected, you have yourself a bad blower.

Wiring isn't all that bad - it could be better, but who knows how many hands have been in there in the last two and a half decades. It's still easy enough to follow should you (or someone) need to.

As I started to ellude to above, a bad wire "all of a sudden" is much less common than the accessory going bad.

It is overwhelming to me because it seems so messy, I wan't to rewire the whole boat just to make it all look cleaner but I don't want to spend any unnecessary money.

Dont do it. Mine same way, after 30 years multiple owners the wiring is an unbelievable rats nest. I hate it. But it works. I just know if I tried to ‘fix’ it, i would lose my mind. Don’t do it.

That part is facing north - my Feng shui. But you knew that....
Trying to F up my zen - how dare you.
Of course I'm just kidding! I VERY much appreciate attention to detail in things like this and that looks VERY nice! I probably spent more time admiring that than I should of... But then I may have a "problem", too ;)
