Funny ramp scene

So picture this. I'm backing down the ramp to load my boat after a nice day on the water. There's another truck in the middle of three lanes....he had his trailer in water and he was attempting to load. As I watch in my mirror, I see the woman operating the boat drifting completely sideways towards the trailor. It's pretty clear that she has no idea. Her husband is on the trailer attempting to instruct her. It's not working.

So he jumps aboard from the trailer, tells her to get off. She walks back and forth from the helm to the bow, she looked completely confused. He yells for her to get off the boat and to get on the trailor. Well, the thing was that the boat had already drifted away from the trailor! She goes to the bow and starts to hang a leg over. He pushes her off by saying "GO!". She trys to step in and falls into the water. So now she's hanging from the bow! The guy is driving the boat back and forth over all of the lanes with his wife hanging from the bow, feet trailing along the side of the boat all while being fully clothed!:smt043

He finally gets her to let go and kicks the two older children off too! They all swim to the ramp and walk (slowly as they could) up the ramp behind me.

So, I sat there, watched it all unfold and then backed my trailer down. My wife comes up, sets my boat on the trailer as pretty as it could be done and we roll out as they continue to be idiots.

That had to be the funniest thing I've ever witnessed. I would've offered help but it was clear that old boy had control of the situation!

Yep, sounds like the guy is an idiot to me. Thankfully nobody got hurt.

My wife isn't very good at the boat or the trailer so she does neither! My 15 year old son has been putting the boat on the trailer for the last 3 years. He put the boat right on the money Sunday in his first attempt of the season. Sure is nice to have a qualified helper. It was near as difficult with the old 160BR but I will tell you that I was a little nervous the first time he tried it with the 220 but I can't recall a bad experience.

My wife has loaded the boat since day one. I always love the looks she gets (specially from the pontoon guys). That ole boy might learn to give a lil pre instruction.. then keep his mouth shut.

I handle the truck & trailer....she handles the boat...and well.
I'd be willing to bet we don't spend more than 60 seconds on the ramp launching/retreiving the boat.
It is absolutely beyond me as to why anyone (usually the husband) thinks they are the only one qualified to launch & retreive a boat. Scott

Wish2Fish......you guys get to Norris this year?

My wife always drives on and off the trailer. She likes to sit also. You can barely see her back there. My instructions are all by hand at the tail gate. OK, straight, left, Ok, straight, cut the engines, let me see the keys, drives up, we're out here!

that made me chuckle, he probably gave her a good beating when they got home too for being so stupid. I guess he will forgive her tho when she brings him enough beer while he watches the telly

Good thing I was not there; laughter and I go hand in hand. Pam used to do the 4 Runner down the ramp and I would load "Adarin" on the bunks without a miss until now. Bought an 08 Tundra Crewmax LTD and the learning curve has been to say the least; difficult! We will get better with every launch and pick up however it's a good thing the ramp is quiet. BTW, the Tundra is one fine truck.
