It wasn't in a SeaRay, but bear with me. I went down to Emeryville last night so I could ride back to Sacramento on a 37' Formula today. What a nice ride it was. Once done at the fuel dock, the owner says "let's go, who's drivin'". He looks at me and says "you're it, hop up there". With a quick tutorial on how to leave the slip with twin screws I was pulling her out and we were on our way. I spent quite a bit of time at the helm today, switching off between myself and two others. It sure is something operating a boat of this size when you're used to ski boats and run-abouts. This was my first time on the bay and I got to run her from Emeryville to the Carquinez Bridge for my first stint. I learned a lot today and had a great time doing it. If anyone ever gives you the opportunity to operate a larger boat than you're used to, you owe it to yourselft to give it a go. It's been a long day and it's time for dinner. Happy boating

That is pretty cool of the owner to let you drive, Even leaving the dock - Great story. Any pics?

Yes, it was very cool and also very unexpected. I have a couple of pics, I'll see if I can get em loaded up. My phone was almost dead, so I only took a couple. I was a whole lot more intent on watching, doing, and absorbing it all.

wow very cool of the owner! what a great oppurtunity! was it a PC or SS model? I went for a demo ride at our local boat show on Formula's new 350 crossover (SS hull). holy cow what a machine, they really do make some beautiful boats.

Looking at pics online, I'm pretty sure it's a PC. It had twin Yanmar diesels, it appears the SS models have big gassers? It was a very nice machine and it rode great. The weather was absolutely perfect too. We've been really busy lately and haven't been on the water as much I wanted, so this was a perfect day to cap off the summer. I'll see if I can get my pics uploaded and post em up. I couldn't believe the wake this thing put out, it was crazy. Anywho, I'm rambling :)

We have friends with a 34 PC. Wow...everything is top notch! Even the throttles are drive by wire. Fit and finish second to none.
