Has anyone tried to increase your fuel tank in your boat?

I have 280 sundancer with 100 gal tank would like to add another 50-100 more gals.?

any input on this, custom tank made, yes I could get a bigger boat with bigger tank.

Buy a amberjack (Grin) Sorry I could not help myself. I too wonder why they put such a small tank on some of the boat. Looking forward to seeing the replies to the thread. I've even thought about adding some kind of fuel bladder to my Sundeck. Not even sure if it could be done safely or not.

I think this is sort of a "sore spot" for most people with a 280DA.

Assuming all ABYC, USCG, whatever, regs are followed... If you were able to mount a new tank with it's bottom higher than the top of the stock tank, couldn't this new tank simply feed the stock tank via gravity. I would think... move the gas fill to the new tank, but keep the current vent and add another vent for the new tank? Just make sure the new tank isn't higher than the vent, obviously.

This is just an idea - I haven't really thought it out much further than that. But, it's something I've pondered, as well.
