Fuel Tank Sending Unit - 1986-1989 sundancer 300da

Hey everyone, looking for someone who has experience changing out the fuel level sending unit on a sundancer mentioned in the title. My stbd side fuel sender isn't functioning, and I'm wondering if you can replace them without taking the entire tank out, of if the tank has to be removed first.

You can replace it without taking the tank out. Trick is to remove the panel aft of the step. Then you can reach down. You can get the wires from inside the bilge. Not a bad job.
