Greetings all I have a group of boats taking off from Lake Erie and Headed to Algonac and Port Huron. I have fueled up in Algonac before and I think it's still available there. Where's the best place to fuel up on the Detroit river?

Jason, while we didn't stop in Detroit on our LSC trip, you could easily see the fuel stops on the north side of Belle Isle. That would be your best bet. We fueled up on the Clinton if you are headed that way at all. Paid $4.39 3 weeks ago.

Jason, If you can make the run all the way to Algonac their are 3 locations on the North Channel, Balfour's and Sassy's on the west end of the North Channel closest to Anchor Bay and Algonac Harbor Club on the east end of the North Channel. The price of fuel is around .50 per gallon lower than what you will find on the Detroit River and Lake Saint Clair. If you need to stop on the Detroit River Keen's is right across from Belle Isle, on LSC the nautical mile has your choice of 3 locations. You can find dockage for lunch on the three nautical mile locations along with lunch at the Algonac Harbor Club.

Enjoy your trip

Jim.

Wow $4.39 that really makes the $3.15 look good for valve tech last Sunday.

Thank you both. I think i can make it from Catawba to Algonac but it would be close and I'd rather just be safe. I have the miles written down in my log book so I guess I will have to do some figuring. Thanks again.

If it makes any difference we made it to metro beach and burnt 86 gallons. About half a tank taking into account a 10% reserve. I know totally different boats but I burn .95 GPH at my optimal cruise

Cedar Point to MacRay is 100s miles, so you're probably looking at just over 90s miles. I would think you'd have plenty of range to cover that.

It's not exactly along your route, but an interesting note is that MacRay has a choice of ethanol, and non-ethanol fuel - with a significant discount for the former. I haven't intentionally bought e10, but if I were about to burn most of it in a single day, it might be worth the savings?

Mayea marine on bouvier bay is $3.15
