Wondering what you guys do when treating the fuel for layup.
DO you follow the dosage reccommendations or add the whole bottle?
I always feel like the 2-3 oz isnt enough to treat my 40 gallon tank.
Then again...what do I know>?

I dump the whole bottle in

All you need is what the bottle says. But, you won't hurt anything if you double or triple dose.

I have the marina do the same thing. Put a whole bottle in each tank. :smt001

I kinda fell for the "marine" Sta Bil this year. At first I was like damn its $24 for the same size bottle but it claimed to treat 320 gallons so it was actually a deal. The regular stuff is $12 and always bought two bottles, one for each tank. So ya I TRY to go by the recommended dosages.

I have been using Sta-tron (light blue bottle) for the past 5 years with no issues...That little 8oz bottle claims to treat something like 128 gallons....I guess it's cheap insurance.

I like the disclaimer on the bottle that indicates "overdosing is not harmful".

Just was curious what the rest of you did. I imagine diesel is somewhat different?

I dump a bottle in each tank before the final cruise of the season.

Single dose during the season. Double dose at the end of the season when I won't get to the boat as often.

I follow the directions on the bottle. Have you ever noticed that the exhaust smells badly in the spring time until you use up that fuel and go to fresh?

Boat exhaust in the spring NEVER smells bad..! Just put our 280 to sleep for the winter and already can't wait for April to roll back around to fire up the sleeping ponies..

ok. I see your point. It does smell better later on however.
