Fuel Pump - Cummins

i know that there may be significant differences but i have a 2001 cummins in my dodge truck and last summer i had to drop 2600 into a new lift pump and injector pump, the truck had 250k miles so i thought that was about right, and the mechanic said that was about the right time, i dont know the comparison between hours and miles
but it is expensive
people always say "diesels run forever....." ya the internal parts do, nothing else is built any better than gasoline engines.....

still love my diesel though, wish my 390 EC was a diesel
