I have been having problems all summer with my boat not starting when hot. I took it one shop and they changed the coil and sensor. This did not fix the problem. Then they said it was vapor locking. It looks to me the injectors are spraying fuel just fine when it won't start. I took it to another shop and they have a 3 week lead time. Certified Mercruiser mechanic. He says this problem is going on all over the country and probably needs a mechanical fuel lift assist? Anyone heard of this?

Yup. It's a 400 dollar part plus labor paint job over the problem. In fact the instructions from Mercruiser state that the fuel primer pump will NOT cure vapor lock, it merely pushes it out of the way.

Do a search on my name, and you'll see LOTS of posts about a problem I've been trying to solve for 2 years related to this. (times 2 engines!)
