Sea Ray Fuel Gauge 2” for 280 Sundancer & 290BR

Sea Ray Fuel Gauge 2”(Sea Ray part# 1540665). Brand new gauge, never installed in boat. This gauge will fit the following models; 2001-2004 290BR, 2001-2004 280 Sundancers, 2003-2004 300 Sundancers. No scratches on the face and in perfect condition. Gauge will be bubble wrapped and carefully packaged for shipping.

Not for SmartCraft Systems. This is why I am selling. Our boat has the SmartCraft system and needed to get correct replacement.

My fuel gauge is stuck on "full" so I am not sure if I need a new gauge or if there is another problem. I have an 2002 280 Sundancer. Do you have any experience on these things going bad?

Thanks,

Jerry

Sorry No experience. Just purchased a new boat and the
fuel gauge was bad and purchased the wrong one from
Marine Max.
Our boat dealer replaced with proper gauge.

your problem is most likely the float on the sending unit located inside the fuel tank. I have no experience with your model however I had a the same problem on my 380 DA. There should be a access hole located on top of your tank and you will find a wire attached to the top of the sending unit. remove the wire and back out the screws. Hopefully you have enough room to remove the sending unit and free it up and check it for proper operation. I'ts also possible the sending unit is bad. I would suggest checking your wire connections as well.

Thank you very much. I will check it out this week.
