1) is there a fuel filter inside the cool fuel module that needs to be changed when the water/fuel separator is changed? My manual doesn't mention anything about it but the internet exploded views all show one inside the CF module.

2) I've read raves about the "Racor" water seperators. Are they normally used on gas engines or are they reserved for the diesels only?

There is a small filter in the cool fuel module but it is not something that is replaced on a regular basis.

Racor makes some spin on filters, don't know if there would fit in the same place as the merc filters or not. Are you having any issues with the present fuel filter?

No issues at all but I've noticed the "Racor" filters are being promoted a lot as "special" add ons on a lot of the boats for sale through the dealers on the Lower Mainland. Just curious if there IS a better mouse trap.
