I have a 2000 380 Sundancer with twin 7.4 Mercs. I was recently given a electronic Floscan as a gift and had it installed. I must say it works great. Although I have noticed my starboard engine burns 2 gallons per hour more than my port. does anyone have advice on what should be checked. Also both props are 21x21 and clean

Floscans have to be calibrated after install. Was that done?

At cruise you probably are burning about 15-17 gallons per hour per engine. A two GPH delta is about 10%. That's not bad on a nine year old boat. It's not uncommon for new engines to have a variance of several percent between them.

Best regards,
Frank

Older boat here. My port burns 2gph more than stbd at cruise. Up to cruise they are identical. I installed new gauges and senders. I don't recall any calibration process in the instructions but you can call Craig at Floscan. He walked me through the process and knows all!

Now, few things can really get a man's heart pumping, his palms sweaty and his mind racing than the thought of having a Floscan on each of his mains! I'm green with envy!:smt038
