Fuel consumption of 496MAG on 280DA [result sharing]

Since I don't see any reference material, I thought I would post the result and see how it compares to others in similar boats.
2008 280DA w/496DTS loaded with 5 people (800lbs), 20G water, 100G fuel.
Trim:1
30MPH @ 3350RPM/20GPH = 1.5MPG
Does that sound about right?
My boat has more than enough power to get on plane with 5 adults.

I had the same exact boat and I averaged 5.06 GPH...not sure how that equates to MPG.

How much fuel are you burning at 30mph? Are you saying 20gph at that speed is abnormal?

I burn about 15.5gph at 3400rpms on each of my 496s in a 340da. Based on that 20gph at 3350rpms seems like high fuel consumption.

Ah got it. I have a single 496.

Different boat, but I burn 30gph, 3350rpm at 28.5mph with twin 496. I have my props re pitched also. So I would say 15 GPH would be about right.

I went from my marina to Rock Hall yesterday afternoon. At 3550 RPM, I was burning between 15 and 15.6 GPH and 30.1 MPH.
