I'm posting this question for a friend of mine. He has a 2000 410EC with diesels. I watched him refuel yesterday and there was a constant dribble of fuel coming out of the vent. When the nozzle got ready to click off, it was WAY more then a dribble. Both sides do this and always have since he has owned the boat, about 11 or 12 years.........any thoughts on this. He said I always have the answers to questions about his boat, he thinks I'm boat smart

Had a similar problem so you might read this. could be a low spot in the vent hose that's pooling fuel. As air pressure builds from adding new fuel to the tank its going to push out whats in the line. http://clubsearay.com/archive/index.php/t-52758.html

I put a shop vac on the vent, sucked to clear any spiders that might have plugged the screen then reversed to blow the line clear. a trip to/from Florida and 6,000-7,000 gallons later-- no problems since.

My 380 would do that. I always used one of those "no-spill" suction cup containers that go over the vent.

that sounds kinda odd.

I installed a vent whistle in my vent line. works great. you can hear the air being forced out when filling.....whistling. when the whistling stops.....time to stop the nozzle.

Even though he's a Colt's fan, my first thought would be in agreement with Dad. Trace the vent line COMPLETELY looking for low spots. Fix each area as he comes across it. It must travel downhill from the vent to the tank with no dips. In the meantime, use a spill cup to catch the drips and keep them out of the water.

X2.....i also use the vent whistle....when the whistle stops the tank is full....if you stop refueling when the whistle stops you will eliminate the gush of fuel from the vent because no fuel is forced up the vent line.....
