So I'm sitting here going over the manuals on all the systems of the boat and the owners manual along with engine manuals. I cannot find fuel burn statistics for my 290DA anywhere (gallons per hour burned at certain speeds/rpm's). I found a chart online, but it didn't list the year model or anything other than that it was for a 290DA.

Am I just missing something? Where in the manual can I find this information?

You may be able to find some baseline statistics out there, but your best bet is to run your boat at different loads and configurations, and take note of the fuel burn at those setups, as how you run your boat may not be the same as the next. All things factor in, engine condition, type of fuel used, ie; octane, ethanol, non-ethanol, prop size and pitch, bottom condition, amount, location and weight of gear stowed on board, you get the idea. That's why the lack of straight forward stats in most cases. Good Luck with the new ride and enjoy! It's going to burn fuel, but the fun derived from that fuel burn is what we love.

I have looked for the same info on my 240 Sundancer. For what it's worth, I have a carbureted 5.7 with 315 hp . Previous owner had cruise log books showing 5.9-6.2 GPH . I did not believe them it seamed to low. The prop that came with the boat was to aggressive. I lowered the pitch and now I'm settled in at 5.9-6.3 GPH at cruise 3400@ 24 knots

Most of the boat manuals do not give fuel burn, they are not nearly detailed like a POH....

POH....?
Darn pilots speaking in code.
....lets see....pilot operating ...something.....don't tell me......I'll get it...

;)

You'll burn about 18-20 gph at cruise and 40 gph at WOT. It sounds like a lot, but nobody ever runs at WOT for long. It's just nice to know the engine will turn up to what it's rated.

Ok cool. I've found that typical cruise is around 30 MPH and it gets the best gas mileage at that speed. And yeah, the engines will go to the speed they are rated, 42 MPH WOT, which is always good.

I am a pilot too, so coming from aviation manuals with precise fuel stats, it baffled me at first. Good to know that fuel stats aren't always included.

Well, for what it's worth I was out last weekend checked fuel consumption.

Stats: clean bottom, fresh tune up all new fluids and plugs, fresh gas, new filters, 4 adults one child, 40 gallons of fuel, no water in tank, all the usual provisions.
Bimini up with side glass on, calm waters.

30 mph @3800 rpm 11.8 gph
