Wow. Ya'll sure have a different perspective. I guess around here I shouldn't be surprised. They only "left" it there because the COUNTY dragged their feet on issuing the permits, and the Sheriff did everything he could to complicate the issue. They probably could have moved it the next day from when they pulled it out of the lake, and the COUNTY could have expedited the permit to make that so. Especially given the weather limitations at the time.
But no, they had to drag their feet on the issue. It's not like the guy was trying to drive this down the expressway in rush-hour traffic!!!
Disgusting what the county did last night too. The Sheriff blocked the move from happening by parking a couple patrol cars in a strategic spot so the boat couldn't have been moved. How much time and resources did that waste?? Then, the guys sent to move the ONLY traffic light that needed to be moved waited until AFTER the truck, trailer and boat were already on the road headed towards the light, when they then found out that the bolts were unable to come loose!!! They could have started that work at MIDNIGHT when the road was supposed to be closed off. They ended up having to BACK UP the trailer and boat and go around the median to the other side of the road. More wasted resource!!!
I hope he sues the county and recovers some of the costs... both in the ~108 day delay and also all the time last night!!!
