I have twin engine 30' da with alpha gen 2 dirves
I have a loss of power to my stbd engine that comes and goes
it will loose torque and spin out. the problem started last year at the end of the year. new prop plastic hub. I thought it maybe prop so I put on spare prop rubber hub this spring with the same results.
switched back to new prop same thing.
I do not believe this to be an engine power issue but could be wrong.
I thought my drive maybe cavitating, not the case.
when I first go out "cold" and power up it runs great. about 20 minutes later the engine starts to slip and over revs. I bring it badk to wake speed and try to slowly get it back on plane and it usually slips again causing me to limp home.
I am thinking it has to be the coupler. I marked the drive shaft and coupler and looked at it and it seems to have not shifted. I am going to re check that tonight(i used paint on coupler and i/o shaft)
I always thought if a coupler went it would go quicky and i would see rubber or metal shavings as well as here it go.
Any chance it is the drive?
Any thoughts appreciated. I posted this on different thread before I ruled out some possible issues.
