I am not familiar with your boat & tank, but I am sure that some other members will chime in and help you out. One thing is for sure and that is you will want to shock it with a bleach solution and flush a few times. A good run to slosh the solution around your tank is in order before flushing out. There are some good threads about this if you care to do a search.

I just did a google search for Peggie Hall's process. Peggie is a guru of marine sanitation and at one point, her process was post on SeaRay's website. Since then, it's been copied, altered, re-posted etc. Here's the purest form of it that I could find. (with the exception of metric measurements)

I've been following it for many years, and believe in it. Be sure to use extra caution if you have an aluminum tank - note the the corrosion issues of using bleach. Poly tanks on the other hand are relatively tolerant and I haven't even had a problem with my 14 yr old pump after many treatments.

I think west marine sells a tank cleaner.I've also heard you can add a teaspoon or two of liquid peppermint and let it stand overnight before draining to get rid of plastic and burnt anti-freeze taste. That is if someone may have run the hot water heater with anti-freeze in it without knowing it.but be sure to drain and rinse the hot water tank also if your boat is equipped .Good luck

Fill the fresh water tank halfway with water. Add 6 ounces of liquid chlorine beach for every ten gallons of water the tank will hold and then fill your holding tank to the top. Open all water outlets and pump the solution through until you can smell the chlorine in the water coming out. Shut all faucets off and let the system stand for at least one hour. Reopen the faucets and pump the remaining solution into your holding tanks. The system should then be thoroughly flushed with normal chlorinated tap water until the smell of chlorine has diminished to the same level as that of the water you are using to flush with. Cleaning and disinfecting should be done at least once a year, or anytime contamination is suspected.

I have also doubled the amount of chlorine and let it sit overnight. When using this much chlorine, you have to flush it a couple of times. You can also add a teaspoon of chlorine per 10 gallons to maintain a clean tank and drink it.

My old aluminum tank was leaking so replaced it with Poly.... when I cut it open {to remove} I could not believe how disgusting it was inside. I suggest removing it and updating with a new tank.....
