One of my fresh water pumps cycles every few minutes or so. What could be the cause and how do I fix it?

Sounds like you got a leak some where in need to find it and fix it .Pressure switch will run the pump every time the pressure drops in the line.Leak can be on either side of the pump

Happened to me once. Took me a while to trace it to the transom shower. It was a slow leak that drained into the engine room bilge. Probably a slow leak somewhere.

If I am not mistaken, you have 2 pumps supplying water to your onboard water system. There is a slight chance that a leak is causing the pump to cycle. If that does turn out to be the case, then one of your pumps is set to come on significantly higher than the other. The idea behind having 2 pumps is to provide full pressure at all the faucets no matter where they are on the boat. If it is a leak, then the cause is pretty easy to spot.......look for water or wet spots. The difficulty is that some of the plumbing is very well hidden so you have to look for excess water in the bilge or perhaps a wet spot behind your ice maker, although looking under the icemaker in the route the leak would need to travel to get to one of t he cockpit scuppers.
The chances are that there is a leaking check valve in the pump that is cycling. I hate working on those Surflo pumps, so I keep a spare on the boat and switch them out when I have a problem. It is easier for me to take the bad pump home and tear it apart on my work bench than to try to rebuild it on the boat.

What those above said, and don't forget to check the pressure relief valve on the water heater. Open the toggle and let some water flush through, might be some grit or scale caught in the seat.

After some investigation, I found both filters on the pumps leaking. Easy to spot not easy to fix. The exhaust hose is blocking the way!
