We have a 2005 260 and the fresh water pump won't operate until I bang it with a hammer. The pressure switch seems to stick. I've checked the strainer and it's clean. Any ideas, do I need to get a new pump?

Thanks and Happy New Year

Just keep hitting it that will fix it.:lol: Often the chosen method of master mechanics every where.

If it is a shurflow pump like mine you can get parts for their pumps. Check out
http://www.shurflo.com/pages/RV/rv_categories/repair.html.
I suspect it might be a motor problem and running it in a noload mode for a few minutes would clean up the brush contacts. Several of the shurflow pumps at the site showed replacement check valve kits.

Mike,

Thanks. I checked out the Surflow site. My part number is 2095-223-264 and it doesn't show up...so I left an email. I think the pressure switch is the problem but I couldn't find anything that jammed the switch and everything was clean inside the pump..the strainer was clean as well?? I did adjust the pressure set screw which when all the way in seemed to help but then pump quit again. This screw is facing outwards towards the port side interior engine bay wall...nice design SeaRay! You can't see the screw and even if you could you would need a very short Phillips head screw driver...so you have to take the 4 pump mounting screws out. to adjust the pressure set screw.

Happy New Years,

Mike

Here is a link to a PDF data sheet of your pump.

http://www.depcopump.com/datasheets/shurflo/2095-223-264.pdf
the switch p/n is Housing/Switch 94-231-10

it was at this site.

Here is a link to a Trouble Shooting PDF.
from the PDF
Pump does not respond to electrical power: Bypass the pressure switch by removing the two
wires attached to the switch and connect them momentarily together. If the pump turns over,
your pressure switch requires replacement. If your pump remains lifeless after bypassing the
switch, your motor needs replacement (some models have replaceable brushes).

I found a part matching the switch number but it said it was for a 24 volt system.

Note sure if this is correct but thought I pass it along.
Hope this helps
