I have one question, how do you get the fresh water pump to come on?
I put in about 25 gallons of fresh water.
I turned on the switch on the dash, it lights up, but nothing happens. Just a little amount of water comes out of the sink when I turn on the water at the sink, Then nothing
Any thing else I need to do to get water to the sinks?
1999 Sundancer SE 270.

You may also have a filter adjacent to the pump, if so open it up and clean out or replace the screen. Potable "Pink" antifreeze will clog up the screen in theses filters as well as the sink aerators.

Thanks,
I'm a newbee to this 270 se boat.
With the switch on, the light comes on but I don't hear the pump come on.
Tank has about 25 gal. fresh water in it, the water will only come out a little at the sinks then it stops 100%, once you wait a while then try again it will come out again just a little then stop again.
I'm not sure where to find the pump to check it, or a filter it may have.
I do know it has the pink antifreze in it, I can see that come out w/ the little water when you turn the water on then it stops again.

Thanks for your help everyone.

As was stated by "Dasch Boat"...clean all strainers and the filter at the pump.

Mine is up against the bulkhead in the engine compartment. Worst case.......follow the line out of the tank. The pump won't be far down line & the strainer is a plastic bulb right before the pump itself. Inside the bulb is the screen. The fact that you can't hear the pump kick on is not good. Remember that the pump should only run when there is a demand for water @ an outlet. After you clean the strainer, verify power to the pump. If you have power but no action......$100 form the boat account should get things flowing.

THANKS!!! That worked!
The pump would not come on because the screen was so blocked.
The screen was totaly blocked, I cleaned it and all is well now.
You would think they could have installed a shut off valve right before the Bulb so when you service the screen you don't have to get a bath or shower from all the water in the holding tank.
THANKS...

Glad it didn't cost you anything. Don't forget that there is a screen at each faucet!

Probably a good idea to run a tank full or so of fresh water through ALL the lines including the hot water side, to clean things out.

ps............If you haven't already done it, now is a good time to test your shower sump.

Ok, I have run and re filled the fresh water tank about 3 times and the screen got pluged again, so I cleaned it again and tried to flush the tank over and over again, even shot some water into the tank to back wash it from the hose attached to the pump, is there anything to add to the water to break up this slime or gunk?

Also, you said to test the shower sump??
What sump?
I tough that drain in the shower just went outside the boat as the sinks do, NO??

And if it has a pump what turns that pump on?
And where does it pump to?

Page 18 of your owners manual shows you where the shower sump is located. A float switch would turn the pump on. Waste appears to discharge to your grey water tank or to a thru hull if you don't have a waste tank.

Sounds like you need to put some bleach in your fresh water tank to break up the slim. Off hand, I can't find the procedure - someone should be able to post the info. If your tank has that much slim, the water must really smell.

Your owners manual says that there is a shut off valve between your water tank and water pump so that you can service the pump/filter w/out draining the tank. Go to www.searay.com to look at your manual if you don't have one. Here is the link to your manual: http://www.searay.com/boat_graphics/electronic_brochure/Company1729/1C1_23_74DEJAJW92L.pdf

You are on the right track. Great post by JerryS should get you done.

Caution - Don't over do it with the bleach in the tank. 1.) its not the best thing for rubber parts in the system & 2.) the more you put in the more times you'll have to flush the entire system. If a dirty or slimy tank is causing the problem, find something other than bleach in the RV supply section of Wally World.
