Freezer to Fridge Conversion

Hey All, is it possible to cover a cabin freezer to a fridge? Is it as simple as swapping out the thermostat? This the a stand alone unit in the galley of a 2007 38 DA

Just try the minimum setting it may not get to freezing, done

Freezer usually have a bit more insulation, smaller volume so they can get and stay colder.

thermostat would be the only change to be warmer

I tried lowering mine and it just went above freezing too cold to be a fridge. Let us know what you find out....would be nice to have the option to be a freezer or a fridge

Check out the Dometic CRX 65 or 50. 50 will be too narrow and will need some creative trim. 65 Is too wide but should fit with some minor widening of the opening. Unit can work in any of 3 configurations.
isotherm has a frig that should fit almost perfect.

I have an Isotherm freezer that I changed the thermostat to a fridge thermostat and it is the perfect beverage fridge. Everything stays just above freezing.

Homebrewers do it all the time. Force the fridge to be "on" all the time and use one of these to cycle power.

Just installed this as a replacement for the mechanical thermostat in the freezer, and all seems to be working great. Easy install! I believe it as the temp range to control the frig temps. Check it out.
