Free Detail???

Ok as i posted ina pervious thread, I had my 20 hr service done, and when i got it back i had stated on that thread that the boat was FILTHY.. with grease prints all over the seats and all over the boat. So when my sales man calles me up to try to sell me a bigger boat (a couple of minutes ago) i ask him "did you recieve my email about my filthy boat?" he says no.. and i told him the situation and he said he will send an email to his service manager. So i get a call back on a few minutes and its the service manager.

He tells me how much they are sorry and that he wants to make ti up to me and send out a crew to my house to clean it.. and i was like well "i have taken the boat out several times since then and have cleaned it so its not dirty. its sitting shiney in my garage" so he says well im going to send you a voucher for a "free datail" to use next time you come in.

Now my question is.. Whats included in a free detail? IF they just wash it ill pass and do it when i get home. OR do they actually buff and wax the bat ect.?

Back at them!

Yes. . .sales departments need to know that poor service departments loose them buisness!

But now you have to buy a bigger boat. The Detail is for when you trade it in for a new one. :lol:

JUst got a 375 dollar voucher in the mail today.. Its the marine max of clearwater saying they were sory for leaving my boat filthy.. Its a voucher that says FREE DETAIL worth 375 dollars. I guess thats a good thing!

You should ask them what a "DETAIL" is. Based on what mine looked like $375 gets your boat a dip in the bay and then an air dry :smt043

Well the service manager said it was detailed, and when I picked it up Last Saturday although it was in the show room it was dirty. Also there was a dime size hunk of firberglass stuck to it including a divit in the side. So I took it back Tuesday morning after talking to the service manager last monday. He called today to tell me it's ready AGAIN and in the show room clean and fixed and that he ordered the stickers that were falling off. I'll be going again saturday to pick it up so we will see.

crock1;

based on the $20 a foot voucher you got that should me a a clean and wax on the boat. Normal price ranges from $15 to $20 a foot.

Morpheus;

if you boat is in the showroom and marked as a sold or customer boat I would not be to worried about folks being on it. MM is usually pretty good about keeping tire kicks off sold boats. I know everytime I go up their and slip onto one of the 260DA's or 280DA's theirs usually an eager Sales rep not far behind. you should see the lot of disappointment in thier face when they find out I'm just there to pick up some cleaning supplies... :smt043

If they wanna sell my boat and put me in a 08 310 that would be fine as long as no money out of pocket. haha

Yea I'm not worried about them letting people on it. I was just saying the service manager said it was detailed and to me it looked like it had been put in the water and taken out and air dried and that's it.

The cleaning supplies there are cheaper then West Marine I found which shocks me.

Also based on 20hr service costing $160 and all they do is change the oil and filter (whcih is easier on my boat then on a car) and just "LOOK" at the engine for them to actually DETAIL a boat cr0ck1's $375 voucher sounds like that's only enough for them to spray water on it and dry it off. Last time I cleaned my boat I spent 6 hours and still wasn't 100% satisfied but it was getting dark.

And yes my sales guy is always there with me when looking at the new boats always ready to get me in one.

Picked her up today. Was in the show room so I ran over to it before they took it out and around to the truck.

She sure was shinny 1000% better then before so I'm finally happy with the results. Still not happy with it takeing 2 months but atleast I have it back now.

If the DETAIL your gonna get is anything like what I got on mine then you should be pretty happy with it.
