Boat Info
working on a 1985 26 foot sea ray sundance it need a lot of work but I will keep plugging away at it
Engines
260 mercruiser
I have a 1985 sea ray boat with a 350 chev engine. What I want to know is, has anyone try a four bladed prop on their boat of the size. I want to know if they get better gas mileage with the four blade prop. thank you john:smt038

What is the diameter, pitch and material of the prop you're running currently? Not sure if you'll do better on this boat than the 16 x 16 3-blade elephant ear aluminium - but like you I'd like to hear some first-hand reports of others.

I had a 99 270 da with 7.4 with bravo 3 drive. Went from 3 blade 21pitch to 4 blade 20 pitch. Burned about 2 gph less plane time and bow ride was DRASTICLY decreased. Held a much more stable cruise cruise speed. One of the best upgrades I ever did

Here is more information on my boat, the prop I have on now is 15x15 prop. My object is to be able to get up on plane and then ideal it back to where I am running on just two barrels of the carberator so that I will be burn less fuel and get better mileage. 15 in dia. prop is the largest I can get on the boat so all I can do is change the pitch and change number of blades on the boat. what would you recommend. thank you John
