For what it's worth, I found a cheaper source for Black Streak remover that I thought I would pass along. Instead of $12, $15, maybe $18 at your local marine store, I found the same stuff at the local farm store, in our case Rural King, IN THE RV SECTION, at $6.99/bottle! Other RV or farm outlets may have a similar product. I have a sneaking suspicion this stuff is the same as non skid cleaner (3M is what, close to $30/bottle?), as it cleans the same, as far as I can tell.

I buy it from Walmart in the RV section... Black Streak cleaner..........

I use Woody Wax. works pretty good. I just tired this on the transom. Since the rain and stains run down my canvas to the transom they make a lot of black streaks. Our guy at the WM said to try 303 Areospace Protectant. So far so good.

I use Goof-Off or Ronson lighter fluid. They both work great.

A lot of things will take them off but does it also strip the wax? Heck, lacquer thinner works great also.

Wax?? Whats dat??? Never waxed my boat and she's still shiny after 25 years. Keep her out of the sun.

Waxing is a must for any boat I use liquid Glass and you can actually see the wax repel water chemicals and whatever.........so far in the last three years we've had her waxed and rubbed every year.

I use Presta liquid wax with UV protection and follow up occasionally with a spray wax for touch up.

We have 12 months of sun, and no covered marinas, I'll stick with the wax 4 times a year

Home Depot $6.49 Gel-Gloss. Great for streaks, cleans and polishes all in one. It is made for fiberglass shower stalls. ga-12.jpg

Back to cheaper alternatives...I buy the drinking water sanitizer at WM. Same stuff and half the price!
No waxing or polishing makes my head hurt! To each their own!
