New pics posted here http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x295/abmwrider/boat/ they are the 1a-10a pics. The 9a-10a pics are looking up at the berthing platform that appears to have not been properly seated during assembly, the other pics are the damage believed to be caused by allowing the hull to flex (over time) because of the inadequate seating/support of the structure.

In part one of the 'Found a crack' thread, I solicited input on if/how to get Searay involved for the repair. Based on what you see in the link in post #1 does anybody think I have a case? How do I get Searay to come look at the boat?

Went to Annapolis Boat Show Saturday. Spoke with the pople form Clarks Landing, they put me in touch with Searay Customer Support. They said... tough luck, thanks for calling, have a nice day...

It is an 11 year old boat - I wouldn't expect them to resolve a problem at this point. We don't have a lifetime warranty on our hulls or other structures.

Looks like a boat that has been run in heavy water at high speeds. We see this on our lake every week end and you can hear the pounding and only imagine what is happening to the hull. The hull looks to be constructed using a chopper gun and resin. A stronger design (and repair) would be to clean out the plywood and lay down some woven mat followed by substantial tabbing to glass the plywood back to the hull. I would glass over the ply wood as well. This is a pretty straight forward repair and should last the life of the boat.

That is some pretty shoddy craftsmanship- let's just say overuse of fiberglass bonding putty... extremely poor fit ('cause it took an inch of putty to fill the gap) and it all should have been tabbed in place instead of being set in a bed of putty. I still say it was caused by abuse, though...

This is an easy fix that can be done in a day. Just get some glass and epoxy resin, and fix it...
