Biocide in the tank is intended to kill SRB Sulphate Reducing Bacteria. If you get water in your tank they do well and build colonies in the tank and feed on the sulphur in the fuel. They build a shell over top of the colony. Their waist is an acid that can eat a hole in your tank. Adding a biocide will kill them. Will you land up with holes in your tank by spring it depends on if you got SRBs in your tank and if you have water in your tank. Adding a biocide now can only do good even if it does not mix with the fuel as long as it settled to the bottom and kills any bugs you have. With low sulphur fuel there is less food for SRBs.
