Thanks,

Is this the adapter that takes two 30 amp shore power and converts it to one 50 amp shore power. If so, please pm me.

Daddy's Dream,

Can you show pictures of the prong layout as if you were looking into the plug? I would be seriously interested if I can verify the pattern of each socket.

Missnmountains,

I MAY have what you want, but not sure. I bought one 2 seasons ago on e-bay thinking it would fit the power pedestal at one of my frequently visited yacht clubs. No dice. I have yet to find a marina or club that I visit, where the one I have will work for what I need.

No part # is written anywhere, but it is Marinco, has single 50A- 125V 3 PRONG male end, and two 30A-125V 3 HOLE female ends.

I'm not too good at posting pictures on this site, but if you think you might be interested, let me know, and I'll give it a shot.

Okay dumb question. Why would you want a (2)30amp to (1)30amp adapter?

I plug the adapter into the 2 outlets on the boat and then only have to string out 1 shore power chord from the boat to the power pole. This is especially useful when overnighting away from home port.

I agree on a 2-30amp to a 1-50amp adp, but if you have a 2-30amp to a 1-30amp you would only have 30amps so why not just plug the 30 amp cord into the post?

It works so long as you don't pull more than the breaker will allow. The 2nd outlet has, from memory, the A/C, and my thruster battery bank charger. As such, it's only the A/C thats typically running and when using the other circuit (cabin lighting, outlets, main battery charger, etc.), I haven't had a problem yet.

In other words, how often is everything drawing full load. There are many boats in our marina doing the same, and I haven't heard of anyone blowing the breaker.

Anyone else doing this, or heard of any issues with it?

I have blown a breaker by getting a little greedy with how much I run at once. The 30A splitter works great when you're careful not to overload it. Seems that quite a few places only have one 30A plug for transient slips, so prioritizing power consumption is a must with the splitter.

Yes, and no issues.
Everyone on the dock does it, one 30 amp outlet per slip. Even the boats that have an empty slip next to them do not use the available outlet to run a second cord, just doesn't seem to be a need. The boats that have two A/C units don't have a problem and do not run a second cord either.

Randy, Try the Defender web site and look at the Furrion adapters, much lower prices than Marinco or Hubbel.
