Hey guys what does everyone do when they have a foggy gauge? replace it? split the clear face on it? I have 3 and my OCD is getting the better of me and makes me obsess over it.

a couple of mine have a constant fog to them

I hadn't thought about it too much before, but I don't believe any of the instruments are hermetically sealed. New gauges are likely to experience the same problems as the old. I'd have to figure out what is causing the problem in the first place. Is the morning sun shining on the offending gauges?

you can use a hair dryer or heat gun to dry up the water in the gauge without removing it from the dash......just apply heat directly to the face of the gauge.....if you use a heat gun just be careful and not get it too close to the gauge....

The reason this is occurring in the first place is the small at the bottom back side of the gauge tis probably clogged.
Gauges are not hermetically sealed. If the holes get clogged you'll have constant fogging issues.

Hmmm ok I'll dive in to it next go around. I was good for a bit and able to work on her now there is 20" of snow around her GRRRR!!

I don't know how your gauges are set up but usually the bulb that is used for backlighting the gauge, when on, will get warm enough to dry up condensation/fog, also Cgrosby mentioned the orifice at the back/bottom of the gauge, make certain they have not been clogged up by spiderwebs etc.

Yup not so much, I'm changing out the dash lights to LED's and will drill a small hole in the back of each one to try it. Worst case I'll need something to upgrade next year so I'll do a gauge swap.
