I never really thought about before I installed it but, Is there a side choice for the flywheel to be installed, decided by if it's an inboard or not?
The reason I ask is because when I installed the flywheel, dampner, transmission, and new starter, upon testing the starter will not engage the flywheel. Upon inspection, the stater pinion gear and nose cone is not long enough to reach the teeth on the flywheel. The teeth on the flywheel are on the front edge on the flywheel, not the towards back. I could understand if the starter were mounted in the normal stern drive or automotive fashion, this would be right, but. Did I simply install the flywheel backwards?
