Does anyone one the board have an RIS Seaworthy Dinghy? The floor on my roll-up is not very rigid underway. I think I may be missing some of the floor. There are some wood blocks on the underside of the floor that look like they are supposed to have another piece join them together to make the floor rigid. I am going to try and make something to lock them together. I am actually thinking of making a one piece floor out of some scrap marine wood and fiberglass that I have left over from a project. I am also considering an application of Tuff Coat this winter. Any suggestions appreciated.

My zodiac has a metal channel that fits over the edge of the floor and wedges into the side of the boat to hold the floor as one solid piece.he side of the boat where it fits is a thick wear surface. If you have that you could be missing the channel.

I had a quicksilver roll up that had aluminum extrusion that slid between the side tubes and the sides of the floor boards that locked them all together. It was a 'U' section with a concave on one side (tubes pushed them into the floor when inflated). They were the last piece of the puzzle to fit. No pics sorry. A one piece floor would be hard to fit? My floors had about an inch removed from the sides to account for the extrusion.

I have the same floor in my dink. Make four L shaped pieces to lock the floor together it will be solid as a rock. make them big enough that the tubes hold them in place. Chamfer the edges that meet the tubes. Be sure to tighten all of the screws that hold the L blocks to the floor.

Techmitch, thanks for the info. Looks like I am missing the stringers. I was on the right track...If you get a chance can you take a pick of yours sometime for me? Thanks again.

Help! I have a '89 Model R156 SeaWorthy. Is it Pvc or Hypalon? I want to order the glue on Registration Numbers but need to know what marerial it is?
Thanks - Chuck

I will actually will be scrubbing her down and putting her together in the next couple of days so i will take some pics.
Douglas Fir is the wood of choice if you want to start shopping now.

Mine is Hypalon. From what I have read all the seaworthy ones were, but I am not sure of that model.

I have white oak to buld my two stringers. I will also epoxy coat them.

Missed this in your first post. Just so you know, the wood blocks as you call them, belong facing up as to facilitate installation/assembly of the floor.

Steven You are missing 4 outside stringers I have the same boat I will take a few pictures to show you what you need I will try and get them tonight for you

Thanks Everyone. i will be waiting on the pics before I start to fabricate what I have planned...

Thanks for the pics. I decided to fab up the stringers in some cheaper pine that I had laying around. If they work this weekend I will remake them in the more expensive and durable oak...

Planed down some boards to fit in the stringer pockets. Clamped in place and marked with a line.

Then I glued a second strip following the scribed line. I used titebond III, I use this for repairs on spearguns when I dont need to mix a batch of epoxy.

I also needed to repair the back floorboard. The plywood was cracked from a SCUBA tank incident...If it does not glue back good I will just use it for a pattern and cut out a new floorboard.

Tomorrow I will cut and router the stringers to what looks like the proper size...

I finished the stringers, down at the lake so tomorrow will tell me how good of a job i did...

Worked perfect at the lake. The boat planes great with the floor not trying to buckle. I may just epoxy coat the wood I used for now, I can see an aluminum fabbed floor in my future...
