Floating Handheld VHF

@ tobnpr, Awesome!! post. I agree 110% with it. Many a times I can hear people fine on my handheld while say in a dingy or on a raft, but if not in visual sight, usually they say I am breaking up, if they can hear me at all. Like the point of standing while using a handheld for the 6' antenna effect, so obvious have never thought of that.

In my real world usage, I have to once again say the review posted is absolutely dead on....

Anyone have experience with the Cobra brand radios? I've always just associated the brand with junky radar detectors, but their new floating handheld radio with bluetooth has me intrigued.

I have a fixed mount now but would like a handheld for a backup/when I'm out of the boat. I was originally looking at just adding a WHAM mic to the fixed mount, but I can see being able to make and recieve phonecalls while keeping your phone stashed away safe and dry to be super convenient.

Are there any other companies out there with something similar yet?
