This my first post to the forum. I'm excited to be here. I just purchased 1994 290 Sundancer. YEEHAA!
I know it’s sad, but TV is very important to me, especially during football season. I’m looking for some ideas as to what size you have and where you put it. There doesn’t seem to be an ideal spot for a TV on the 1994-1997. Thank you in advance. Any pictures would be great too.

You can start at the above thread. It has several links within that thread to other thread on similar topics.

I have not installed mine yet. I am thinking now about installing it where the mirror is in my V berth I am just trying to figure out how to get to that area to install.

Thanks for the help Loneranger. I'll take a look. I was down on the boat this weekend and wow, there really isn't a good place for a TV.

You are correct there is not an ideal location. The more I look I think I am going to put mine where the mirror is now assuming I can get access to that area. It is just a matter of time before I find all the little hidden screws.

In the days before flat panel TV's it really would not be possible on this boat.

We put a 19" in a 260 dancer and didn't even remove the mirror. Not my original idea, because the prior owner had a small monitor there mounted the same way. It is velcro'd to the mirror with that industrial velcro. For the new led flat planel, I had to make a small standoff from the mounting area of the TV so that cables could exit, and put velcro on it. We're on Champlain and get thrown around quite a bit and the TV stays where it is. The TV we found is a 19" Visio LED HDTV that runs off of 12V (perfect for our needs). Great picture, very bright, etc.

Regards, Terri

Wow! Are you telling me you velcroed your TV to the wall? Thats amazing! I actually might give that a shot. I boat at the Lake of the Ozarks and the water can be pretty rough. If the velcro doesn't fail on busy weekend in the main channel at the Lake of the Ozarks, then I have a entirely new respect for velcro.

Thanks for the tip!

I have my 19in w/ DVD ( left side needed) above the entrance to the mid cabin. Faces "V birth. The mount has a up-side down "V" which the TV slips on too (TV has second part of mount) I leave enough cable to bring it up to the Cockpit. I use bungees up there. I use an inverter with upgraded batteries 2 "Blue top" optimums.
I have a large Antenna. The TV has its own Life jacket wrapped around the unit so if it falls ( 2 years still there) I had to re-enforce the panel with Think Sheet metal strips. Good luck &
GO GIANTS :)

Yea, with the advent of LCD or flat panel TVs, they're much lighter than old CRTs. My standoff must be 10x6 or so and it is covered in 2" wide velcro which I also put on the mirror.
One world of caution... You can't just stick it up there, you need to kind of apply pressure and twist side to side (<1 degree) to seat that big sheet of velcro. But once seated, it's not coming off unless you're pulling it off. Like I said, we don't let most any weather stop us, and it's stayed put.

I like it because it's non-destructive and can be removed without a trace.

Good luck...

Exactly! The Velcro can be removed without a trace. Thanks again for the tip.

Thanks JohnEGraham,
I've looked at the mid cabin spot and I was wondering if the panel needed to be re-enforced, this is good to know. I like your idea of portability as well.

I'll post a picture of my mount job, once I make my decision. I'm working with a 15" LCD tv.

Thanks for all your help guys.
