Hi,
I just purchased a 2001 182 and have a small icon flashing on the hour meter. It looks like an hourglass. It could be a service indicator-maybe oil.If so the PO changed so I need to figure out how to reset it.Can't find any mention in the owners manual.
Thanks!

I have the same thing on my 182. if you find out why please post!

2006 195 Sport.... "Blinky" hour glass here as well.... But, from my research, this is normal... When the key is in the "On" or "Acc" position, this is the counter... Showing that you are putting hours on your boat!

Please someone chime in and correct me if I'm wrong!

Quick web search shows pretty much the same thing.... "Blinky" hourglass, time accumulating... There are some other things that pop up on the hour meter... Service reminders, etc... But I have not seen any of those "others" on my boat, per say!

Hope this helps!

I think my 2001 280DA did that too - when ignition power was on. I'd bet it is perfectly normal and not an indicator of anything other than the timer is incrementing.

I never would have guessed that.Usually a blinking light is not good news.
Thanks for the quick replies!

And... the hour meter only counts hours - doesn't display any info on the small boats. A engine needs to have Smartcraft for that.
