I'm about to replace the Atwood 6 gal water heater in my 250 DA. It has the old polybutylene water lines and I've taken one of the fittings off the old heater, but I can't find anything that is remotely similar. I'm also concerned about how I'll connect the new fittings via elbows to the polybutylene tubing. Does anyone have advice about where to look for these fittings (brass [?] screw connex to water heater and elbow that connects the brass fittings to the polybutylene lines)?

Also, while I'm in there, I need to find out why the cockpit heater isn't blowing warm air (admiral needs it when piloting). Does the cockpit heater use water from the same heater hose off the engine as the water heater to warm the air?

Thanks,
Jim

What color are the poly pipes in your boat? If they are gray, I might be able to steer you in the right direction. Do you have any pics of the fittings used in you boat?

Any hardware store should have what you need. We just replaced our heater, local Ace had what we needed

Your cockpit heater runs off of the engine. There is a heat exchanger behind a panel on the starboard side of the aft cabin. Water comes off the engine and forward to the heat exchanger then returns to be discharged.
