Does anybody have any experience with the following winter covers for a 34' boat
I am thinking about getting one of the following winter covers from my boat
12 oz poly / cotton canvas for $ 3600.00 They say you get 8 to 10 years or
10 oz poly / vinyl canvas for $ 1500.00 They say you get 8 to 10 years
What is the difference between the cotton and the vinyl ( which will last longer )
Will any of this covers work well with a Imron hull
Is this worth buying over shrink warp
Is it water proof, wind proof and going to last at least five years.

I picked up a slightly used one on THT in Dec 2016 and have used it for the past 2winters. It is the standard 12oz army duck canvas and it works great. The guys at Fisher are awesome and I’ve been to their shop twice, once to pick it up and again when I was passing through on business so they could demonstrate how to roll it up properly (there is an art to it so you can basically unroll it onto boat). This past spring they picked up the cover in Annapolis, repaired a few sections that caught on a cleat during windstorm and I had them add a zipper door. They dropped the cover on my front step a few weeks later. Even with the cost of the cover and recent repairs I’ve easily saved a boat buck over the past 2 years compared to shrink wrapping.

For the most part snow slides right off. I haven’t been inside during rain to see how waterproof it is but the inside seems relatively unscathed after 3-4 months of storage. The last time I talked to Fred he mentioned they have now made a few covers in a 2pc model with a zipper and rope closure amidships that greatly reduces the bulk and weight. I don’t have any experience with the poly covers but he has stated that they are much lighter and easier to maneuver than the heavy canvas. Feel free to PM me if you have any other specific questions or would like to discuss in further detail.

That cover looks great! What do you use for a support frame?

PVC. The main stem is 4” pvc and runs from the radar arch to the bow with a tee support in middle. There are 4 1.5” branches per side that complete the bow section (sorry for the sideways pics).
