I have a sundancer 300 DA 87 with 260's. I'm wondering what i can replace in the same thru hole my original transponder is at. I can't find any info on it or what was the old fish finder\ depth was. Can any one tell me? Thanks

It's actually called a transducer and good luck trying to remove it. They used a really good epoxy and you would have to cut it out of the hull. I left mine in place and just installed a new transom mounted transducer.

Also, most of the new thru-hull transducers do not require a hole in the hull. They can be mounted in a pool of epoxy and will read right through the glass.

I agree I did the same thing on mine last year, I just cut the wires and left the transducer there and installed a new unit on the transom.

Hi, thanks for the reply, so i'll keep it in there and get a newer one. Thanks.

Will do that. thanks.
where is the best place for it? I have the speedo thing in midship that dont work. Like to see if it works better there? let me know if this is a good place?

I installed an Airmar shoot through transducer under my starboard engine spoken by the stronger near the front of the engine. It works great. Be sure that the area in front of the mounting location is clear of thru hull fittings, old ducers and strakes so that the new ducer sees clear undisturbed water flow.

I replaced mine with a chart plotter, you could do something similar as the chart plotters also give you your speed.

to every one replying thanks for the advices. i'll do airmar thanks again
