With the close of December I will complete the first year as a Sea Ray owner. We spent the the year adding new canvas, waxing, polishing SS and cleaning carpet. The boat was a 2001 290 Sundancer that had been little used and needed some TLC. I had minor generator problems, but for the most part everything ran well. We made one 130 mile round trip and several day trips as well as spenting great days at Shell Island, about 4.2 miles from my home base, Treasure Island Marina. My wife and I met several new friends, one being John Hampton a frequent poster here at CSR. All in all a great summer even with gas at 5.00 a gal.
I want to thank Frank Webster and others who gave me sound advice on the process to survey and buy a boat which was more complex than others I had operated in the past.
The weather here is in the high 60's, and I am off until January 5th ... I will head to the boat Saturday morning to run the boat and spend a few days on her. Both my daughters are home from school so I am going to take an estrogen break and do some planning, wage increase recomendations and goal setting for my plant for 2009.
Thanks again.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
