I was going to go out on the boat today but the Admiral was not up for it so I treated her to breakfast out and then worked on my boat...

Well, winter project #1 completed in under 3 hours start to finish. Go here for the run down by photo:
New Floor in the Cabin

I used a Home Depot simulated wood product (Actually a linoleum that simulates wood)... Total cost was less than $50. And I have half a case of the flooring left over...

Looks good! Your off to a good start for sure!

I still haven't cometo grips that she is winterized.....Daylight savings time helps that effect though...

Doug:

Nice job. How did you get the flooring to "curve up" in the forward port side just to the left of your fridge in the pic above?

It's a flexible, like linoleum and it follows the curve of what's beneath it. It's like a thick heavy matt.

Go Aweigh:

I have another project for you for the other half of the box.....

As Sundancer stated but I also had to heat the material so that it would bend easier. That is the only area I sprayed with adhesive to make it stick and not lift. The rest of the floor actually floats on the deck.

I used real wood on my previous 2452 and it was a weekend job to do it. This material is easy to work with and is water proof (unlike wood).

We will still use a runner however when underway on long trips... Now we don't need to carry a vacuum. Just wipe the floor with a damp towel...

Floor looks great. I need to remove my little bit of carpet on my steps and cabin. It won't really get clean enough to keep from tracking dirty foot prints onto the deck every time your feet are wet and you step onto the carpet.

Doug,

Looks great. Is there any trick to getting the old carpet up?

Henry
check out the link he provided. It goes through more steps.

Hey Doug, it's not winter yet, you can't count this towards your winter list
What's next on your list?

Just kidding of course. It does make a nice difference, great job

I am in such denial about winter that my boats are still in the water.

Last weekend, I just found out my local fuel dock is now closed for the season(yikes!). My props are now so full of barnacles, I might not be able to get the boat to haulout in a few weeks.

Although. . I definately have moved into blowboater time of year. My sailboat, which was neglected during the summer, has gotten out a few times this fall. Lack of crazy jetskiers, autumn breezes, and fall colors makes for nice sailing. But coming back to dock at 6pm *in the dark* leaves much to be desired..
