Thanks! That was a quick stop at a fuel dock on a no wake canal so no need to spend much time on the lines. Especially at 10pm. No one was around. Looking forward to a good summer.

Great photo! Looks like a nice area to boat at night! Fuel dock? Yes, that is a much visited place unfortunately....Enjoy! Great boat!

Awesome pic. I like your taste in SeaRays ;)
I'm in NYC next week, love the view from the water. Enjoy the boat.

You wont believe the amount of junk that floats down that river, you have to be very careful especially at night.

It is true. I've been boating these waters for a very long time and thanks to Sandy, this year is worse than ever. Most of my boating has been at night, you just have to be vigilant.

I understand the "junk in the river"! Have you ever heard of a Thilmany toothpick? It is a whole tree trunk minus the branches! The still move some lumber on Columbia River the old fashioned way. At times these logs come loose and float solo! Hit one of those at 30 knots and you are going to the bottom!

Nice view!

You know that view all too well! We're flying out tomorrow morning to the Cayman Islands but may take the boat out for a quick ride tonight. What are you guys doing? Maybe we'll head your way. If not, we come back next weekend and should set something up.
I'll be at our boat all evening; i'll probably get there around 5-5:30 and she will be there a little later. Let me know if you head down. We can figure out the following weekend as we plan to be on boat the entire time. If we don't see you tonight, have a great time and let us know when you'll be back.

Great pic.

BTW, I really like the extended canvas on the back. Using the rod holders as supports really gets the shade back to the platform. Is that something you had made? I could see how this would be easy to throw up and take down in minutes by to attached to the existing radar arch zippers.

I never heard that term but here on the Hudson, we have a lot of old pilings and railroad ties from old commercial piers that float just below the surface. They're waterlogged and weigh thousands of pounds. I call them widow makers.

The extension was something the previous owner had made. It literally goes up in 60 seconds, stows almost anywhere, and creates lots of shade when you need it. I would imagine it was pretty cheap as well. The front edge has three zippers to attach to the existing canvas and the rear has two lenghts of some type of stiffener rod sewn in to keep it taut and a reinfored eye in each corner for the poles.

I'll text you later and let you know. I just have to get packed for the trip and drop the bulldog off with the family. If not tonight, next weekend for sure!

Good luck with the new boat.

We do a lot of our boating at night too. The city is great at night, we often do the Circle line tour. I am right up the river from you, maybe I'll see you on the water this summer. We anchor for the weekend a lot in Bowline. If you are looking for something to do next weekend have a look here, it's always a good time:

Where up the river? I'm in the first marina south of the GW Bridge.

That thread looks like a good time. With a new boatg, I'm concerned about navigating down around the jones inlet, but if the feedback is good, we may give it a try. Keep in touch.

I am just on the other side of the bridge.

I am in the first marina north of the GW Bridge.

Jones isn't that bad to get in. If you want you could follow me, our current plan is to leave our marina Friday night after work and anchor down by the statue. Then get up early Saturday morning and head out.

Thanks for the offer but i'm away until Saturday. We'll look for you if we head out that way.
