Well, been a boater most of my life, but I finally made the switch from speedboats to a cuddy last August. 2002 SeaRay 225 Weekender. Since it was so late in the season, I trailered it for the remainder of the season. Well, I went and leased a slip yesterday at King's Cove Marina in Hastings, MN, right near the junction of the Mississippi and the St Croix River. 26' x 10' slip, summer only (I have my own storage facility) for $2430 + $50 for trailer parking. I cant wait!!! I am sick and tired of trailering. I will still trailer on occasion, but the majority of our time is on the river.

I then came home and did my taxes and my refund is more than covering the cost of the slip.

Paid for my slip yesterday also. You will love it.

Trailered every boat from pwc and up until I upped from my 215ec Sea Ray. From my 280da and up I have been a slip renter and have not looked back. Once I got to the point my truck could not tow my boats I had an excuse to go that way. Welcome to true boating and relaxing :smt038

Thanks! I have plenty of truck for trailering this boat, so I can't justify it that way. But I just got so sick and tired of waiting at boat launches, and putting the boat away once I got home after a long day on the water just to do it all over again the next day just plain sucks. Also, with the convenience of a slip, weeknights are now an option as well.

Unless you want Uncle Sam to be your banker you would be far better off increasing your number of allowances and get the money every pay check than no interest for the gov. Anyway, I only had a trailer for my first boat and have wet slipped every one my boats so as others have said, you will enjoy it.

I agree! But I was worried about the so-called "Stimulus" plan hosing everything up. We are adjusting our withholdings this year.

Did the same thing with my 225we up until 4 yrs. ago...fed up with stupid people with no manners/ettiqute{sp?}on launching or hauling...never looked back, Enjoy

Kings cove is kind of spendy, guess i'm lucky,I pay under 1,000 for a 26 ft. slip and put trailer in new fenced in storage area for free just a ways down river at ole miss marina in red wing

Maybe compared to down there. But I couldn't find a slip for cheaper anywhere around here.

I found Boomsite to be the cheapest on the St Croix but that's a bit of a ways from Hastings

Yep, too far north for us. We like the Prescott/Hastings area a lot and typically only go as far north as Hudson. We will occasionally take a trip up to Stillwater, but not often.

We spend a lot of time in Prescott. Typically we leave Boomsite at 4pm on Friday and head to Hudson and grab a spot on Beer Can island then get up early and go to Prescott and use Cabana Joe's dock typically they don't charge us the $40.00 dock fee because we stop there often. After a few drinks there we head to either Treasure Island marina or go through the lock and stay and Red Wing marina

This year if we close on the 290 Sea Ray will head to Iowa, been as far as Lake City so far.

50 plus degrees today in MN isn't too bad and the talk this year is the ice will be off the river earlier than April 15th with all the flooding melting the ice quicker. Can't wait it's been a long one this year ;)

We'll have to meet up at the Kinni sometime and have a cold one.

You're going to love not having to screw around with trailering. We spent several years at Kings Cove and found everyone friendly and, of course super convenient to everything.

We spend a lot of time around Prescott and the lower St. Croix. Nightlife in Prescott during the summer is fantastic. I was in Prescott yesterday, the mighty Mississippi looks open from Lock 2 down river past Prescott.

I'm thinking SPRING!

Yep, we love that area! Now that we dont have to trailer it home at night, we can enjoy some Fri/Sat nights in Prescott.

Went to Hastings today to check out the flooding situation and decided to check out my slip.

Here is my parking spot for the summer.

I argue this with people all the time! They don't realize that it is perfectly legal to claim up to 9 deductions. Why give the govt. a interest free loan for 11 months? It drives me nuts. Give it to me every pay period instead of the guberment spending it on $800 toilet seats!!
