I had gone down to check ropes and for loose items around our dock. It had been a long day so I smoked a stubby cigar and had a drink. The first of the thunderstorms rolled in and was enjoying a bit of mother nature kicking up. Then it got quiet. I could see the next line and decided it was time to get to the lakehouse about 4 miles away. I made it there just in time to get in the 'fraidy hole'. After the freight train passed by went back down to check on things. Not a good start to the season. Nice Aft doesnt look too bad but I couldnt safely get too close. Looks like Ill be getting new canvas and some gel coat work at the least but its going to be awhile before they get us dug out. Glad to say the couple of old geezers that didnt heed my warning were on the next dock over and were safe. ( altho I think they had to change their britches)

Thats hard to look at. Cloth and fiberglass can be replaced, lives cannot. Glad you are safe and i hope you vessels is back to her old self quickly.

I had heard about the storm at Sand Springs. Glad you left the docks and went on land, much better when the freight train passes nearby.

Had a friend that had a sail boat on Eufaula that got smashed a couple of years ago.

Good luck with digging out and the repairs.

Ehhhh.... I got nothing. ... First that guys 48 db now you. This weather pattern the last few years has been pretty screwy. .. Hopefully mother nature settle down soon. Sorry about your boat but love your name!

Not my favorite way to take a ride on the boat.

Adjuster has been out. Agree's I was very lucky. New railings, a little bit of Fiberglas, a good bit of gelcoat, bottom job, and new winter canvas. And no body has been hurt during the extractions. Shop manager was out today making notes, taking pictures to give estimate. Glad things are moving along but I know it's going to be weeks before I'm back in the water.

Wow, that large picture of the mangled mess of what used to be the boat cover is sad to look at. I'm glad you are on your way to being back on the water.

It can't come soon enough.
