Does anyone have any recommendations for a bottom paint. The previous owner used an ablative paint, but that seems to be a little old school. Any recommendations.

Old school how? Ablative is the way to go. I use a multi season ablative ( Interlux, Micron) and just touch it up every other season. On my old boat I didn't use an ablative paint and got a nasty build up.

Maybe others here can give you something a little more "Cutting Edge" !

Thanks for the tip. Didn't mean to offend just thought that the newer Anti fouling bottom paints with algacides might be more effective. I will say that I miss the old fresh water lake that I grew up on!

If your boat is trailered? Stick with the hard stuff instead of ablative. Not sure if you can get it there but I have had a good run with International "ultra". I have 40 rollers on my trailer and the ablative didn't handle them well. If you live in the water as TD said nothing wrong with ablative.
