Yesterday we went out for our third outing in the new 190 Sport, had a great time.
We were cruising the lake and hit a couple of larger waves, and the boat made a loud sound when it hit - the wife said wow that did not sound good, I told her it was just the larger wave hitting the hull hard.

Well when we got back to the house we were doing our usual boat cleanup, she was taking care of the inside while I wiped down the exterior with Hot Sauce.
Then lo and behold I saw it, augh - our first nicks in the gelcoat! Immediately I thought perhaps that loud sound was not just a large wave, perhaps something was in that wave like a submerged log or something. Can't believe it, I now have two nicks in my hull's gelcoat.

Not sure how good it will show up on these pics, but will try.

Any tips for what I need to do for these, I assume I should be able to fill them in with something?
Thanks for any tips,

Contact Sea Ray and get your exact color. Then contact Spectrum Color and get the matching patch paste.

Thanks for the info Bill, will do!
I am pretty sure Sea Ray uses what is called " Arctic White" but will double check with them to be sure.

Ok so I called my dealer this morning, he is ordering a gel coat patch kit for my particular boat, said he should have it in about a week.
I am assuming this is something I can do without much effort, sounds like it is a paste I will just fill in and smooth out in those nics?

Thanks,

Yup, just like repairing drywall. Just take your time, and use light pressure while wet sanding. There's lots of documentation here on site in using the paste.

Thanks , I have certainly done some drywall in the past, should be able to handle it then!

Don't do anything till the end of the season. Then do those two nicks (along with future ones ) all at the same time. The gelcoat kit is a one-time use.

I suggest using the hell out of your boat, and worry about fixing it when/if you sell it. Y'all would freak out to see my gelcoat and hull - boating for me is all about fun instead of work on the cosmetics. I'm guessing this advice will be very unpopular. Oh, well!

Ah ok I did not realize that Dennis, thanks for the tip! I am sure of course my eyes will keep going right to those two nics, but I guess I can be patient rather than using just a little of the kit and throwing the rest away.

Thanks,
