Hi i am a newbie to boating and just bought a 1971 srv 240. I wanted to see about getting some help with a few questions i have and please dont tease me as this is my first boat:

1. I would like to replace the alchol burner and it only has an ice box is this a hard ordeal and or expensive?

2. Does anyone have the instrument panel labeling for this boat. I can only make out about 4 of the labels. I also would like to know how hard it is to replace the guages and entire instrument panel because this one is toast.

3. Boat head with toilet that can be removed but im really not sure how this thing works?

4. If i wanted to add led lights in the cuddy and around the deck of the boat do i wire back directly to battery?

5. How do i get fresh water to the sink?

6. Were do i put gas in this thing at?

First things first.... Welcome to boating with Sea Ray and to CSR. Go to SeaRay.com and download the manual for your boat, that should explain everything about the head and fuel issue. If you don't have a switch for cockpit lighting you should add one to control the LED's and wire them to that switch with an in line fuse.

Your boat is pretty old. It sounds like you need to start opening hatches and start crawling around to find how everything is plumbed. You should have a fresh water tank that is plumbed to an electric pump which should supple your sink with water. Your head will either pull water from the lake and dispose of waste into a backwater or separate holding tank that should be pumped out or it may be totally self constrained and need to be carried overboard to be disposed of. It will help the members of the members of the forum if you post pictures of your boat- specifically of the questions that you have.

Thanks a buch! I have taken it to have the gelcoat fully restored and any chips taken care of, from there its to the mechanic to add the toys that I need to make it a comfy weekend! Pics to come!
